BONUS - RUSTENBURG - Police in the province in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies arrested 1 258 suspects for different offences during Operation Shanela actions executed between Monday, 7 October and Sunday, 13 October.
The suspects were among others, arrested for murder, rape, attempted murder, assault (with the intent to do grievous bodily harm as well as common), dealing in drugs, illegal dealing in liquor, possession of drugs, burglaries (at both business and residential premises) and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Reward offered for info on Bojanala bus fires
BONUS - RUSTENBURG - The South African Police Service has offered a reward of up to R50 000 for any information that can lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of alleged perpetrators in the Bojanala bus fire investigations.
Two malicious damage to property cases were reported in the early hours of the morning of Tuesday, 1 October at two Bojanala bus depots.
It is alleged that six busses at the Bojanala Bus Depo at Chaneng and a further 17 buses at Tlaseng were set on fire to a joined estimated value of R69 million.
Police continue to arrest more illegal mine workers in Vala Umgodi operations
BONUS - RUSTENBURG - "Vala Umgodi" operations led to the arrest of 39 suspects between Thursday, 3 and Saturday, 5 October, in Sun City and Mooinooi.
All 39 suspects, including 34 males and five females, were nabbed for contravention of Section 49 (1)(a) of the Immigration Act, (Act No. 13 of 2002). Out of the 39 suspects, ten were also charged for illegal mining and eight for being in possession of wrought material. All 39 suspects were scheduled to appear in the Brits and Mogwase Magistrates’ Courts respectively on Monday, 6 October.
