Die ANC-raadslid, Poppy Morapedi, is verlede Vrydagaand voor haar huis in die Photsaneng-nedersetting net buite Rustenburg doodgeskiet nadat sy en ‘n familielid ‘n paar stuks kruideniers by ‘n winkel naby die huis gekoop het en onderweg huis toe was.

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - In response to a parliamentary question posed by the DA, the Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, revealed the response times by the South African Police Service (SAPS), throughout the country. 
In an unfortunate revelation, albeit not surprising, the North West province is positioned in a disappointing second last place.  From these response times, criminals have all the time in the world to do their bidding without any fear of SAPS intervention. In the Northern Cape, it takes more than an hour on average for SAPS to respond to a violent crime or a crime in progress.

Werkers en swaar-masjinerie het net meer as ‘n week gelede hul “intrek” op die perseel geneem en is tans hard aan die swoeg met die lê van fondasies en versterking van die basisstruktuur voordat messel- en bouwerk in alle erns kan begin. 

RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The scare of his life! This was in store for 41-year-old Gregory Collen Tlabakwe - 
a water meter reader of Rustenburg's Von Wielligh Property Management. Monday this week was a usual day at the office for Gregory as he went about his duties like every week. 
Monday, 15 April however, turned out to be a day that Gregory probably won't forget for a very long time - a close encounter (of the first kind) with a gigantic African Rock Python.  Gregory was reading water meters at Waterfall Village, Cashan 19 at approximately 09:00 and when walking from one unit to another the thought suddenly arose - "Am I imagining things or did I just see the tail of a snake slipping over that wall?"  But Gregory wasn't in another world or Jurassic Park for that matter.

Die South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) het bekend gemaak dat die e-tolsisteem gestaak word om middernag op 11 April. Dit sal dus die laaste dag wees dat e-tolfakture op die standaardsisteem verwerk sal word. 
SANRAL-rekeninghouers sal daarom voorts nie verantwoordelik gehou word vir e-tolfooie wat na die aangekondigde datum gelas word nie, selfs al beweeg hul onderdeur die strukture. Geen aksie word verlang van die publiek nie, aangesien die proses outomaties opgedateer sal word.
