MAHIKENG MAIL - ORKNEY: The City of Motlosana Local Municipality will soon become a beacon of hope for the North West province with close to 4 000 jobs that will be created at the newly refurbished gold processing plant at Orkney by China-African Precious Metals Company.
The plant was resuscitated at a tune of over two hundred million as part of the company’s two-billion-rand investment at its Orkney operations.

MAHIKENG MAIL - MAHIKENG: The DA said this week they will write to the Department of Public Works MEC Elizabeth Mokua, demanding a full report and thorough investigation into the drainage system after flooding during rainy weather over the weekend. 
The DA condemned the North West Department of Public Works for the fiasco on the newly opened Nelson Mandela Drive in Mahikeng, which flooded during the weekend rains. Opened in May 2024 after numerous delays, this road is already showing severe defects.

MAHIKENG MAIL - MAHIKENG: MEC for Social Development, Basetsana Sussana Dantjie, kept true to her word on Tuesday, 5 November by donating a laptop to the North West Older Person’s Forum, as promised in a first meeting with them.
Then, the forum had indicated to the MEC that their work was hamstrung by lack of resources, chief among them a laptop, which is central to record keeping and communication.
