BONUS - POTCHEFSTROOM - In order to promote effective communication between communities and the South African Police and in particular the country's many people struggling with poor hearing, a new initiative has been developed by the SA police.
During a special ceremony in Potchefstroom earlier this month, the Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in North West, Major General Patrick Asaneng, handed over certificates to 20 members who were trained as sign language interpreters.
Maj Gen Asaneng motivated the recipients and said Human Resource Development is a mutual symbiotic relationship between the employer and employee, from which both parties derive benefits.
"We are witnessing the benefits of training and development that improve the employees' knowledge and skills. Furthermore, the organisation becomes more productive and efficient, reducing errors and complaints against the police. Any death person will now be able to be understood and assisted by the police," Asaneng concluded.
