BONUS - RUSTENBURG -The Rustenburg police, in partnership with key stakeholders, successfully conducted a Safer Schools Awareness Programme at Waterkloof Hills Secondary School on Thursday morning, 15 May. The event brought together various role players including Public Safety (Traffic and Disaster Management), Department of Health, and the Rustenburg Local Municipality (Office of the Mayor).
A total of 830 learners were engaged on a range of important topics aimed at promoting safety and well-being within the school environment. Topics included: mental health awareness, substance abuse prevention, disaster preparedness, Road Traffic Act compliance, fraud awareness and anti-bullying education.
The initiative forms part of an ongoing campaign to create safer and more informed school communities across the district. Learners were encouraged to make responsible choices and to report unsafe or unlawful activities in and around school premises.
