MAHIKENG MAIL – MAHIKENG - The ANCYL in the North West province has welcomed the new Premier, Lazarus Kagiso Mokgosi after his appointment on Friday last week at the North West Provincial Legislature as the North West provincial government leader, taking over from former Premier, Bushi Maape whose term ended after the recent national and provincial general elections. 

Maape has been on sick leave for several months and was temporarily replaced by MEC for Local Government, Housing and Human Settlements, Nono Maloyi on an Acting arrangement.
In their statement, the ANCYL said, “Without any shadow of doubt the ANC has forwarded the best among its ranks to lead the process of social transformation as well as the provision of quality service delivery to the people of the North West province. 
“We need capable men and women to be assigned the tasks of leading the EXCO of the province. We plead with the ANC not to appoint comrades who have not served our people well in the past, who are scandalous and whose hands are not entirely clean. Committing such a mistake will invite a credibility crises to the leadership of the ANC while also reversing the good impact which the North West government has made since the inception of Cde Nono Maloyi as the acting Premier.” 
The Youth league is planning a march on June 28, to submit a document detailing their concerns that included creation opportunities and a platforms for them to explore talents and capabilities.  The Youth league also mentioned how the youth of the province are becoming frustrated and depressed, they are left with no choice but to find entertainment in using drugs and alcohol, the traits which rapidly destroys their future as well as the future of our province.  “We demand that the 7th administration must bring along a renewed hope for the youth of the NW province - factories must be opened, mines must stop retrenching people, agriculture must be supported in order to sell their produce, every community must have a decent sporting facility, unemployed teachers must be hired and graduates must be absorbed by both private and public sectors.  “We further demand land and support for young farmers, a amphitheatre in Mafikeng to suppor the arts, we demand better wages for young journalists and media personnel, decent working environments for the younth in the private sector, we demand that government wages a fight against gangsterism and police must stop working with drug lords. All these demands and more shall be given context and explained further.
“Our march will be peaceful and intended at ensuring that the interests of the youth of this province are put at the center of the plans of government in the 7th administration.”
