MAHIKENG MAIL - MAHIKENG - On Thursday, the newly appointed MEC for Social Development Sussana Dantjie, called for departmental senior management to make the difference in the lives of ordinary citizens of the North West province by working together as a team.

MEC Dantjie, who is upbeat about service delivery urged her management to prioritise the provision of services to community members who depend squarely on government for a living. “Given the high rate of unemployment, you should play a critical role in skilling our communities. You should close the gap between the communities and government. Provide services to the elderly, orphans, child headed households and the most vulnerable in the province,” Dantjie told her senior managers during a meet and greet session in Mahikeng. While taking government services to the people, Dantjie ordered managers to comply with the law and work tirelessly to make the department of social development a department of choice. Dantjie called on management to work together in harmony to achieve more than what has already been achieved in the previous financial years, putting the needs of young people on top of the department’s developmental agenda.
“We must all intensify our efforts to achieve a clean audit at the end of the financial year while at the same time, delivering quality services to the people of this province.
“This department is one of the depart-ments that has the potential to achieve a clean audit by  developing  action plans so that we work towards achieving a clean audit.”
