MAHIKENG MAIL – MAHIKENG - In celebration of Literacy Month, the North West Department of Education hosted the Provincial Spelling Bee Competition at Mafikeng Primary School in Mafikeng from 10 to 12 September to promote reading among learners and empower them with skills to enhance their vocabulary in different languages.
The competition, kick-started on  10 September with Grade 3 learners who participated in English and Setswana oral competitions, showcasing their skills in poetry, spelling, and reading comprehension. 
The foundation phase learners demonstrated exceptional fluency in spelling and reading various texts, accurately answering questions and reading for meaning. 

MAHIKENG MAIL – POTCHEFSTROOM - In a bold move to uplift the economic status of farmers and enhance the productivity and value of their livestock, North West MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Madoda Sambatha, handed over twenty-four Nguni bulls to farmers last week Friday in Potchefstroom.

MAHIKENG MAIL - MAHIKENG - Ditsobotla Local Municipality were allegedly defrauded R460 000 by an attorney, Thouret Mampe Thabo Tiro (41) (director of Tiro Attorneys (PTY) LTD) and Tsietsi Isaac Shema (54), the then acting director of Corporate Services at the Ditsobotla Local Municipality, appeared in Lichtenburg Magistrate Court for bail application.
