The long-awaited moment of truth for many an amateur artist -
the announcement of the two overall winners in this year’s Rustenburg Herald’s Blank Space Art competition sponsored by Pick n Pay Greystone Crossing and Beyers Naudé followed by the prize-giving which saw two worthy winners being rewarded with two extremely valuable Pick n Pay shopping vouchers to the value of R10 000 each.
This year saw art of unprecedented quality, according to Chief Judge Mollie Moolman of Rustenburg at the prize-giving ceremony on Friday. Photographed from left are Mollie Moolman (Chief Judge), Derrick Oberholzer (owner/manager Pick n Pay Beyers Naudé), 21 year-old Michaela Camacho (winner Beyers Naudé), Cecile Volschenk of Rustenburg Herald (administrator of the competition), 77 year-old Ms Christi Buys (winner Pick n Pay Greystone Crossing) and Steven Vorster - owner/manager Pick n Pay Greystone Crossing. Rustenburg Herald’s Blank Space Art competition will resume on 8 January 2024 and amateur artists with time on their hands during this Christmas holiday will do well by planning their new entries.
