RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - A 37-year-old stepfather appeared in the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday for the alleged murder of his 13-year-old stepson.
Police were on Friday evening, 21 June 2024, called by a neighbour to the scene in East End, where they found Olebogeng Molebangwe deceased in the house.
The victim was found with what appeared to be two stab wounds on the upper arm, although the suspect alleged he assaulted the deceased with a belt for leaving his younger brother alone. The victim’s body also had visible assault injuries. The suspect was then arrested and detained. The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello condemned the incident considering that the victim suffered at the hands of someone who was supposed to protect him. He instructed the investigation team to ensure that justice is served.
