RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - Legal Aid South Africa’s North West/Free State Provincial Office awarded their best performing employees at the 19th Annual Achiever Awards on 16 November.
Legal Practitioner Tshepiso Mokoroane from the Legal Aid SA Phuthaditjhaba Local Office scooped the award for Lawyer of the Year: District Court. Siviwe Rwaxa from the Legal Aid SA Bloemfontein Local Office walked away with the Lawyer of the Year: Regional Court award.
High Court Lawyer of the Year was awarded to Vanecia Abrahams from the Legal Aid SA Bloemfontein Local Office. Lawyer of the Year: Civil was awarded to Johannes Peter Myburg from the Legal Aid SA Klerksdorp Local Office.The Supervisor/Programme Manager of the Year award went to Mvula Khambule from the Legal Aid SA Rustenburg Local Office. He was described as a hard-working Manager who is respectful of everyone and displays a high degree of humility. He believes in continuous legal learning and possesses a Master’s degree in Corporate Law.
The Paralegal of the Year award went to Lerato Mashaba from the Legal Aid SA Kroonstad Local Office. Gaynor Southon from the Legal Aid SA Bethlehem Local Office scooped the Support Employee of the Year award.
The Head of the Legal Aid SA Klerksdorp Local Office, Dr Melinda de Kock, was named Manager of the Year. She was described as a very strong and resilient woman who is committed to ensuring the mandate of Legal Aid SA is achieved. She has just been awarded her Doctorate degree in Mercantile Law.
"Legal Aid SA is proud of our top performers and their commitment to providing equal access to justice to indigent and vulnerable persons by rendering quality legal services," Molefi Molefi, a spokesperson for Legal Aid SA said in a statement.
