Lentswe, Potchefstroom - MEC Madoda Sambatha of Agriculture and Rural Development in North West will hand over Nguni bulls to twenty-four farmers from across the province. The handover will be on Friday September 13 through the Departmental Nguni Cattle Development Programme that was launched in 2006.

Lentswe, Jouberton - The PAC regrets with great sorrow the passing of one of its dedicated stalwarts and a freedom fighter. Johannes Teko (Jomo) Kadise was a political member of the PAC and Apla.
“He was one of the staunchest members and very dedicated,” said Shadrak Chakane, chairperson of the Jouberton branch. Kadise was born at Manthe Village in Taung, the second born among four children. “He was a family man and loved the community. He joined the struggle in the early eighties.” His funeral will be held on Saturday September 14 and the service will take place at Jouberton Community Hall. The memorial service will be held on September 12, at 13:00, at the same hall.

Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The South African Principals Association (SAPA) held a successful two day provincial conference at Protea Hotel. Topics discussed were the two pot system, the importance of teachers to the country and message of support by SACE, FEDSAS and the Provincial Education Labour Relations Council (PELRC). The national conference will be held on September 12-14 at Emperor’s Palace in Johannesburg.

Boleng Serobatse, a learner at Glenly Private School, has been included in the North West chess team after she placed third in her category during the tournament held on August 24.  She will compete for her spot in the SA team during the September holidays in Gqeberha.
