Happy birthday to Oupa Petrus Wetbooi from Mahikeng, who will be celebrating his 104th birthday this Saturday, November 16. Petrus, who has lived in Mahikeng a long time, was born November 16, 1920 and is looking forward to celebrate his birthday with family, friends and his community.

Oupa Petrus said he felt very happy to be alive for so such a long time. He is grateful for his life and that he is still here today - by the grace of God. “You have to have good manners and always be happy and give out love always. If you want to live this long, you must always stay healthy and eat healthy. What is more important is to always respect your elders and to be kind to others and to always help whenever you can - then everything will fall into place,” said Oupa Petrus when he shared his secrets for staying alive longer.
Oupa Petrus said he wished to have a cake on his birthday since he was living with his only nephew, Jackie. “I would really appreciate it if I can have a cake to share this special moment with people who have always been with me. I will be really happy about that.”
