MAFIKENG MAIL - MAHIKENG - Ratlou Mayor, Cllr Matlhomola Jafta, continued his mandate of delivering services to the people when he handed over the High Mast Lights Project to community of Ward 12 in Madibogo village.

The R5.4 million worth of the 400-500 W LED mast lights project was awarded to Mamotshabi Business Solutions company early this year and in March the mayor introduced the contractor to the community, thereafter, the start of the project got underway the with supply and installation of the lights.
The project was completed on record time owing to the agreement between the service provider and the Municipality. Not only did the project illuminated the area but also ushered business opportunities for local small and medium enterprises as well as short term job opportunities for the local people. 
The community could not hide their excitement as Cllr Jafta, who was accompanied by Senior Manager for Technical Services, Kagelelo Phiritshwane, the local councilor Tshepiso Dipheko and municipal officials handed over the project.
The event was characterized by the cutting of the ribbon by the Mayor and Kgosi Pule Mokoto, followed by the switching on of the lights as a symbolic gesture to mark the official handing over of the project to the people.
