MAHIKENG MAIL – MAHIKENG: The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in the Ngaka Modiri Molema Region successfully held its Regional General Council (RGC) on 20 July in preparation for the upcoming National General Council (NGC) in September.

The gathering provided a platform for branches to engage on NGC guidelines, political programmes and organisational roadmaps. The region was urged to convene Branch General Meetings to elect delegates for the NGC, ensuring gender parity and broad-based representation.
The RGC was attended by key leaders, including Provincial Secretary Comrade Brian Huma and Executive Mayor Cllr Khumalo Molefe, who emphasised the importance of youth involvement in governance and economic development. Regional Chairperson Comrade Matong Podile stressed the need for unity, organisational discipline and credible Youth League structures ahead of the NGC. He also cautioned against parallel activities and expressed concern over former leaders undermining the current leadership.
The RGC reaffirmed the region’s commitment to the renewal and consolidation of the Youth League, and to ensuring disciplined participation at the NGC.
Branches were encouraged to implement the RGC’s resolutions with urgency and clarity of purpose. The ANCYL in Ngaka Modiri Molema remains committed to youth empowerment, organisational development, and the ANC’s transformative agenda and is ready to play a key role in ensuring a successful NGC in September.
