MAHIKENG MAIL - MAHIKENG: A group of pageant winners, led by Taahirah Modeling Academy’s titleholder and final year LLB student and O’kgabile Mokoena, recently hosted a tin food drive to support the Legae Child drop-in Centre.
The centre is dedicated to nurturing and uplifting vulnerable children and with the generous donation received, will help provide nourishing meals to children in need, reinforcing the importance of compassion and community support.
O’kgabile, in her quest to champion against food insecurity, started the initiative to raise awareness and combat hunger. “As pageant queens, we believe in beauty with a purpose,” said Mokoena. “Food insecurity and child hunger are issues that plague our society - I believe that we are the custodians of the children around us. We must raise awareness and do our part to give every child a meal.”
The TMA models (Okgabile Mokoena, Reabetswe Mogatusi, Reabetswe Plaatje and Zinhle Nyuliwe) and Miss International South Africa (Thato Motsatsi) were warmly received by the staff and children during the handover, creating moments of joy, unity, and hope.
The tin food drive marks just one of the many community outreach efforts spearheaded by the TMA titleholders, who remain committed to use their crowns for advocacy and spreading the spirit of the Taahirah Modeling Academy.
