STELLALANDER-STELLA: Sumari Brand van der Linde, ’n onderwyseres aan Hoërskool Stella in die Vryburg-omgewing, het onlangs groot akademiese erkenning ontvang toe een van haar navorsingshoofstukke in die African Journal for Physical Activity and Health Sciences gepubliseer is.
Sumari het reeds in 2019 haar Meestersgraad voltooi met die studie getiteld: “Position-specific characteristics for elite adolescent male rugby players in the North West province.” Die navorsing het gefokus op o/15-, o/16- en o/18-rugbyspelers, en watter antropometriese, fisiese en motoriese eienskappe noodsaaklik is vir spelers in verskillende posisies om as swak, gemiddeld of bo-gemiddeld geklassifiseer te word. In die tweede kwartaal vanjaar is sy deur ’n akademiese joernaal genader om een van haar hoofstukke te publiseer.
Vryburg to host revived North West Agricultural Show
STELLALANDER-VRYBURG: The North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has confirmed that Vryburg will be the permanent home of the revived North West Agricultural Show, set to take place from Thursday,18 to Saturday, 20 September.
Announcing the preparations at a media briefing in Naledi on Saturday, MEC Madoda Sambatha described the event as a “strategic intervention, an economic lever, a developmental platform, and a celebration of the agricultural heartbeat of our province.”

Cohuki Foundation rugby clinic draws over 180 learners in Vryburg
STELLALANDER-VRYBURG: The Cohuki Foundation has hailed the success of its rugby clinic held on Saturday, 13 September 2025, at Colridge Stadium, where more than 180 enthusiastic learners gathered to sharpen their skills and celebrate the spirit of the game.
The Foundation expressed gratitude to the parents who entrusted their children to the programme, as well as to the teachers of Floradene Primary Schoolo and Thuto Lesedi Primary School for their unwavering support. Learners from Saruchera Primary, Colinda Primary, John Frylinck High, Colinda High, and Vryburg High also participated, proudly representing their schools and the clinic.
