Government helps young women to nail it in the beauty industry
MAHIKENG MAIL-MAHIKENG: The Provincial government has given three young women in Mahikeng starter packages worth R20 000 each to grow and establish their businesses in the ever-growing cosmetic and beauty industry.
The young women from villages around the capital Mahikeng have been ready to operate, but just needed a financial nudge to realise their dreams. “We have been through courses on business start-ups from department of economic development, environment, conservation and tourism and have been waiting for this opportunity”, says the elated Lesedi Motlhageng from Masutlhe 2.
Karatekas receive a warm welcome
MAHIKENG MAIL-MAHIKENG: Mmabana Arts, Culture, Sports Foundation (MACSF) Karatekas who participated in the Inagural International Indo Pacific Tournament held in Mauritius last month received a warm welcome at Mmabana Gymnasium on October 6.
Among the guests were Interim CEO Sipho Nkese, Dr Tumelo Mufhandu, Kgosi Shole, Kgosi Kopano Lekoko with Sensei Dr Badu Mothusi was the Keynote speaker.
Ga-Mothibi clinic brings services to North West community
MAHIKENG MAIL - MAHIKENG: The opening of the community health centre in Taung was a reaffirmation of the right to human dignity and basic services, said Deputy President Paul Mashatile. Mashatile on Friday led the official opening of the Ba-Ga Mothibi Community Health Centre. “The Ba-Ga Mothibi Community Health Centre stands amongst the best in our country and I would even dare to say, on the African continent”, Mashatile said. The launch of the clinic was in line with the Thutsa Lerole Accelerated Service Delivery Programme in Sekhing Village in the greater Taung Local Municipality under the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality.
Lucky Monyebane wins Junior Lightweight African Boxing Union title
MAHIKENG MAIL-MAHIKENG: An entertaining bout between Lucky Monyebane hailing from Dikebu Village, Moretele and Khanyisani Mbokazi for junior lightweight African Boxing Union title was a talk of the town after Monyebane knock out (K.O) in a ninth round in Midrand on Saturday night, September 30.
Monyebane affectionately known as ‘The Genius of Boxing’ lived up to his nickname as he dominated the back and forth fight and delivered flurries of genius punches which lead to the K.O to win Junior Lightweight African Boxing Union title.
