STELLALANDER-VRYBURG: Joe Morolong Memorial Hospital in Vryburg ushered Christmas day by cultivating the spirit of Christmas to newborn babies. 

The two new born female babies were gifted with hampers to mark Christmas day as their birthday. Acting Deputy Director Nursing Mr A Batlhaping together with the Hospital Board Member, Mr B Molefe and hospital staff distributed gift hampers to the babies. 
The Northwest Department of Health reported that 112 babies were born on New Year’s Day. In Dr Kenneth Kaunda District at total of 19 babies were born, 12 male and seven female. In the Bojanala District a total of 36 (13 male and 23 female) were born on 1 January. A total of 34 (19 male and 15 female) and 23 (11 male and 12 female) were born in Ngaka Modiri Molema and Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati Districts respectively on New Year’s Day. The first News Year’s baby to be born in the province was delivered at Mahikeng Provincial Hospital.
