RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - On an evening filled with splendour, fine food and drink, plus a hint of nostalgia, the newly formed partnership between De Wet De Villiers Brokers and Efficient Group was celebrated at Brauhaus Afrika on Monday, 2 September.
Loyal clients, hailing from the Platina City and surrounds were invited and hosted under the sprawling Magalies Mountain range, to an evening that will be remembered for many years to come. Johan de Wet of De Wet De Villiers relayed how the brokerage firm started in his parent’s sitting room approximately 38 years ago and commented that the newly formed partnership with the Efficient Group is in an effort to build on the legacy of personal and professional service, which the company is known for.

This sentiment was echoed by Thomas de Wet, who commented that in an effort to advance, the company first has to look back and reflect on what they have built. He referenced brands such as Nokia, Kodak, Mr Video and Xerox who did not move with the times and eventually, became obsolete. “Those who adapt to change, will survive.” It is for this reason that De Wet De Villiers partnered with the Efficient Group - an accountability partner - allowing brokers to spend time and truly connect with clients. He described Efficient Group as a leader in the financial market, saying that with their guidance and support, clients will be offered better and more informed financial advice.
“We are going on a physical, as well as an emotional journey,” commented Thomas Schlotfeldt as they announced the Efficient Expedition - a journey of 39 days around South Africa, with the aim of engaging the private sector in order to grow the South African economy.
In a bold statement, Dawie Roodt, Chief Economist and Founder of Efficient Group, said that job creation is a catch phrase used by politicians. He believes that by growing the South African economy, job creation will be a natural consequence of this. “Things are getting better. Economics is about people. We are living in the best of times.”
With this in mind, the Efficient Expedition started their journey across South Africa’s roads on a 39-day trip of almost 6 000km. Pit stops include Nelspruit, Bloemfontein, George, Bellville and towns with sister publications of Rustenburg Herald - Upington, Klerksdorp and Vryburg. Their journey will be earmarked by conversations with the private sector in order to adapt to a rapidly changing world, building relationships that will not only benefit the Efficient Group’s client base, but the South African economy as a whole.
