Are you even South African if you didn’t have a braai on Tuesday? Don’t worry, if the weather was somewhat of a deterrent, there are still 99 days remaining before the end of 2024 - to light a lekke fire and listen to the sizzling of steak, wors or ribs on the grill. Rustenburg Herald, in the spirit of our  South African traditions and in celebration of Heritage Month and (the very short) September school holidays, wishes all of our readers a great time with family and friends to catch up over clinking glasses with brannas, Zamalek or Amarula – whatever your poison…

Don’t forget the pap and sheba – the laughter and good memories? Mahala! Jacques Erasmus (front, left), owner of Platteland Deli, well-known for a range of venison or any other meaty treats to suit your fancy, celebrated with friends and family – wife, Riana Erasmus with youngest, Magnus and three beautiful daughters: Zané, Ise-Marié and Riandri and family friend, Christa De Abreu. In the back: Christian De Abreu, Tjaart Bernard, Damica De Abreu, and Jaco De Abreu. (Photo: Waldie Volschenk.)
