RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The diligent Rustenburg Trio Task Team, achieved success when they apprehended a 40-year-old wanted suspect on Thursday, 10 April, after a warrant of arrest was issued.
It is alleged that the convict did not abide by his parole conditions after being found guilty of rape committed in October 2012.
Crime Intelligence received information, leading the team to a liquor outlet in Lethabong, where the man was found and apprehended. Police investigations linked the wanted suspect to three other cases in Bojanala Sub-District 2.
He appeared before the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 14 April, on three charges - murder, attempted murder and business robbery.
The Acting Provincial Police Commissioner of North West, Major General Patrick Asaneng said the arrest of the parolee is worrisome, given the fact that a lot of state resources were spent in tracing and arresting this suspect (and convict), who was given a second chance of reintegration into the community - but instead decide to continue with his life of crime.
