RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTENBURG - The vigilance of Trans-Kalahari Corridor roadblock participants of last week culminated in the apprehension of five attempted murder wanted suspects in Rustenburg on Thursday afternoon, 22 August 2024. 
According to reports, three counts of attempted murder were registered at Sun City police station on Wednesday, 21 August 2024, after a shooting incident involving employees of three private security companies at plot no 2, Morogong section, in Tlhatlaganyane village. Following the incident, Sun City police arrested two suspects aged, 30 and 32, and confiscated a vehicle, which was found at the scene.

A manhunt was launched for other suspects who fled from the scene driving in Toyota Fortuner and Toyota GD six vehicles.
The suspects' vehicles were stopped at the Trans-Kalahari Corridor roadblock in Rustenburg. In one of the vehicles with two occupants, 130 9mm ammunition, 280 AK47 ammunition, three AK47 assault rifles, two other rifles, one shotgun, three 9mm pistols and five 9mm magazines were found.
Preliminary investigations showed that the Toyota GD6, which had three occupants, was reported stolen in May this year in Delmas, Mpumalanga Province. Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) is investigating.
The two occupants of the Toyota Fortuner, both aged 42, are expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrates' Court on Monday, 26 August 2024, facing charges of unlawful possession of firearms and unlawful possession of ammunition. The other two suspects are being questioned by Sun City police for possible linkage to the attempted murder.
Meanwhile, two suspects arrested in Sun City, are also expected to appear in the Mogwase Magistrates' Court on Monday, 26 August 2024, on three counts of attempted murder.
The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, commended all role players who ascertained that the suspects are brought to book and that the arrests will serve as an indication that the police will continue to ensure that those who commit crimes are dealt with harshly.
