RUSTENBURG HERALD - RUSTNBURG - The 1st and 2nd rugby teams of Sibanye-Stillwater will be facing the final hurdle in the Leopard’s President’s League this weekend when the teams will face Welkom Rugby Club (not Welkom Rovers) and Klerksdorp Rugby Club in the finals that will be contested at Olénpark In Potchefstroom.
“We are extremely proud to have both our teams representing Sibanye-Stillwater in die finals of a provincial league,

” Joël Scherman, Sibanye-Stillwater Head Coach told Rustenburg Herald on Tuesday this week.  It is not an overstatement to say that Sibanye’s 1st team is facing a difficult task after being defeated twice by Welkom Rugby Club earlier this season. Sibanye had to settle for the scores of 15 - 25 and a narrow loss by one point only of 35 - 36 against Welkom earlier in the season. “Let’s hope that Sibanye-Stillwater will be able to settle the proverbial “old scores” in Potchefstroom on Saturday to bring the trophy home,” Scherman concluded.  The two final matches will begin at 14:30 and 16:00 respectively.
