Members of the Rustenburg and North West Police, Traffic Officers and officials from the Directorate of Public Safety on parade, during the Trans-Kalahari Roadblock and Safety Operation held on the Bakwena N4 just off the Waterfall Mall during the course of last week. An alarming number of unlicensed firearms and ammunition were recovered, with at least five wanted criminals and murder suspects being apprehended during this operation.

The Trans-Kalahari Roadblock and Safety Operation is an annual safety operation covering the Bakwena N1N4 from Maputo in Mozambique up to Walvis Bay in Namibia with the aim to root out crime and  promote road and community safety.
