BONUS - PHOKENG - Rekopantswe Early Childhood Development (ECD) Hub was established in Phokeng by Boitumelo Mataboge, Kate Makhubu, Kgomotso Tshupe, Mmule Seakgosing, Rebaone Tsintsiri, Refiloe Kgokong, and Thembeka Matsela, following a study facilitated by Koenane Thakalekoala on the ECD Function Shift, supported by the ETDP SETA Research Chair in ECD. The Hub continues to bring ECD practitioners and sector stakeholders together in meaningful collaboration.

As part of the ECD Practitioners’ wellness, on Saturday, 25 October, the Hub brought smiles and energy to the community through a successful Fun Walk. Parents, children, ECD practitioners and principals joined hands - walking, laughing, and celebrating the spirit of togetherness under the theme “Step-by-Step: Growing ECD.”
It was more than just a walk; it was a reminder that when a community comes together for its children, beautiful things happen, and that the ECD sector matters, especially its dedicated practitioners.
The event encouraged healthy living while highlighting the importance of early learning and care. Heartfelt gratitude goes to the Royal Bafokeng Protection Services and Phokeng SAPS for their escort, the Royal Bafokeng Institute for donating water bottles, and Eco Foods for their kind contribution. Rekopantswe ECD Hub remains a place of hope, growth, and inspiration for ECD practitioners and all related stakeholders. The Hub invites everyone to join this journey of nurturing a brighter, stronger future for our children.
