BONUS - RUSTENBURG - Though the levels of reservoirs supplying Rustenburg with water have stabilised to considerable extent over the weekend, the city’s crisis with water supply is far from over.
On Monday certain areas of Waterfall East, lower Cuckoo Avenue and Azalea Park were still without water.

Cllr Tanya Rootman of Ward 17 where large outages have been experienced earlier last week, told NW Bonus that Rand Water has in meantime begun to pump water to Rustenburg South Reservoir, although the process is progressing painfully slow as a result of reduced capacity at Rand Water’s facilities. At this stage there is uncertainty about the level of the notorious Barnardsvlei Reservoir. Rustenburg consumers are implored to reduce their water usage, to refrain from filling swimming pools and the washing of cars until further notice.
