BONUS - RUSTENBURG - A poor standard of service delivery, power outages, water interruptions and other failures by the Rustenburg Municipality have led to a second public outrage in recent times when the service delivery group - "We stand for our city/Rustenburg" - promptly closed the R24 at KFC Waterfall Mall on Thursday, 16 May, in protest against the "ineptitude" of the RLM.

At the same time, the group WSFOC/Rustenburg also demanded the stepping down of Rustenburg Councillors who were accused of letting down the Rustenburg electorate after months of consecutive service delivery issues.
The protest action went smoothly and without incident for approximately 75 minutes, until the R24 was reopened, after which the protest action spilled over the the area of the Shell Ultra City, also on the R24, where members of the forum unfortunately clashed with the Rustenburg Police and law enforcement agencies, whereafter a number of protesters were arrested. These photographs were taken by Waldie Volschenk of Rustenburg Herald/Bonus on Thursday afternoon.
