BONUS - RUSTENBURG - Mountain View Square was abuzz with activity this past weekend, hosting a Market Day event, jam-packed with products and entertainment for one and all!
The Rustenburg community was definitely in for a treat, when they arrived for their "regular" monthly shop - which turned out to be an opportunity for parents to not only get their shopping carts filled to the brim (with special deals lining the shelves of local shops), whilst being entertained with live music on the premises.

Children of all ages enjoyed the morning with clowns and face painters - at their beck and call. The balloon bubble tent and colouring in tables also drew a lot of attention and both young and old were captivated by the reptile demonstration that took place late morning. One youngster commented that the gecko's feet "felt like marshmallows" and a few locals even braved their fears and had very close encounters with the slithery guests.
Dudley van Loggenberg of Producate Youth Development, who presented the reptile information session, commented that "People fear what they don't understand", but also warned the public that even though his snakes are people friendly and tame, snakes in the wild should never be approached, as they are not used to human interaction and "will bite". He also noted that keeping reptiles as pets, is one of the biggest growing trades in the country.
However, there were a few people for whom slithery "product" exploration was not at the top of their shopping list and luckily there were quite a few mini-stalls inside the Checkers where patrons could taste products, chat to the extremely helpful and friendly staff and just enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the day.
