Nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cradle Moon offers the perfect blend of rugged trails, captivating history, and stunning natural beauty, providing the ultimate backdrop for the XTERRA Global event.
The Cradle is a central and well-loved destination among the sporting community. Conrad Stoltz, the legendary ‘Caveman’ and multiple XTERRA World Champion, shares his excitement, “We are thrilled to bring XTERRA to Cradle Moon.

This fantastic location allows athletes to experience the natural beauty and wildlife that South Africa has to offer.”
The XTERRA event includes Full, Sprint and Super Sprint distance options available for both individuals and teams of three; there's an adventure waiting for everyone. Whether you prefer swimming, mountain biking, trail running or walking, this event promises an unforgettable experience.
The XTERRA World Tour spans 27 countries and features 51 races, giving off-road athletes the chance to compete on diverse terrains and earn a spot at the XTERRA World Championship. This series brings together elite and amateur competitors from around the world, offering a unique opportunity to challenge oneself against the toughest terrains across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific region.
The renowned off-road triathlon first made waves on the island of Maui, Hawaii in 1996, where it continued to thrive until 2019. What began as a US-based event quickly evolved into a global phenomenon, now hosted in 47 countries worldwide. XTERRA South Africa was introduced in 2004, shortly after the Athens Olympics, and has since captivated athletes with events across South Africa in Grabouw, Buffelspoort, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and Knysna, with Grabouw serving as the primary venue. After a brief hiatus following the cessation of operations by the previous organisers XTERRA South Africa has been revived by Stoltz. With renewed passion, energy and commitment, the event is set to feature a rotating schedule of venues across the country, enhancing accessibility and bringing the excitement of XTERRA to a wider audience.
Stoltz, a legendary figure in the world of triathlon, boasts an impressive career spanning 25 years as a professional athlete. As a seven-time World Champion and a two-time Olympian in road triathlons, Stoltz has demonstrated unparalleled prowess and dedication to his sport. He has dominated the XTERRA circuit, clinching the XTERRA USA Series Championship ten times and achieving 53 XTERRA World Tour race victories. His remarkable achievements have solidified his status as one of the most accomplished professional triathletes in history.
