Lentswe, Kanana - Library week was celebrated recently and the Orkney library presented outreach programs at Folang Disability Centre and Ikaheng Disable Centre, both in Kanana. The library appreciated the help of members who contributed their time and effort to promote library services and make them more accessible to the communities we serve.

The theme of this year’s Library Week, was “Sustainable Communities”.

The library collaborated with the youth from Ikaheng Disable Centre and Folang Disable Centre to organize engaging games and activities that promoted physical and mental well-being.

“Through this initiative, we aimed to foster inclusivity, socialization, and a sense of community among our participants. We believe that libraries play a vital role in empowering sustainable communities, and we are proud to have played a part in making this vision a reality,’’ says Thabo Mooki.

He said celebrating library week serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of libraries in promoting social cohesion, education, and community development.
