Klerksdorp Record, Klerksdorp - A memorial service for Motsomi George Morebodi was held in the Auditorium last week. The executive mayor, Fikile Mahlophe, was one of the speakers at the ceremony on Saturday February 8.
Morebodi, generally known as Hunter, passed away on January 29. He was 64 years old. He started getting ill in 2021, but worked right up to his death. He worked as deputy director at the local municipality from 2014 until his passing in January this year. He was born at Makweteng, Khuma and went to Tukisang Primary School.

He studied at Vista University. He is one of six children. 

He started as a teacher at his old primary school and ended his career at the Klerksdorp City Council as Deputy Director: sports, arts and culture.

He cut his teeth in sport and was involved in the development of table tennis. He was national secretary of the Table Tennis Board. Boxing was one of his other passions.

Hunter was married to Dolly Rampei and they had five children (one of the two girls has passed on), and four grandchildren.
