Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The police’s integrated high density operations to prevent and combat crime are continuing to ensure that those who transgress are brought to book.
“Police working together with other role players, apprehended 658 offenders for numerous offences such as dealing in drugs, business robbery, murder, attempted murder, rape, sexual assault, assaults, fraud, burglary business and residential and many others.

Of these arrests, 363 were conducted by detectives during suspect raiding operations. Moreover, 50 suspected undocumented persons were taken in for processing by immigration officials,” said Brig Sabata Mokgwabone, police spokesperson.

He said these arrests were effected through execution of several actions, which included stop and searches, road blocks, vehicle check points, visiting and inspecting of licensed liquor premises, second-hand goods dealers and tracing of wanted suspects, among others.  

“During the operations, police confiscated liquor, five firearms, 21 ammunition, copper cables and a variety of drugs.”

Meanwhile, the Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena thanked all members and role players for their continued and concerted efforts to ensure safer communities.
