Buhle is Miss NW Exclusive
Lentswe, Kanana - Buhle Tshoniswa is the newly crowned Miss North West Exclusive 2024. The Kanana-born queen started her pageantry journey in 2022 after suffering from depression and anxiety due to a skin condition that left her bullied and belittled by society. She was encouraged by her uncle to enter pageants and use her voice to express herself and encourage other young girls who may be going through similar situations to stay strong and not let their physical appearance stop them from perusing their dreams. Throughout her Miss North West Exclusive journey, Buhle has advocated for education and the pressing issues of substance abuse.
September is Deaf Awareness Month
Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The SA Deaf Association wants to highlight the plight of deaf people where after thirty years of democracy very little has changed.
Ntshema Molebeleli calls himself a deaf legend and a fighter for human rights. He paints a dark SA where the government is celebrating thirty years of democracy, but it has nothing to do with its citizens, especially the deaf community as sign language is not implemented in government departments and interpreters at police stations, clinics, municipalities and hospitals don’t exist.
