According to W/O Naas Venter of the town’s police two cellphones were grabbed on August 12 at about 12:30 when the complainant was sitting in front of her house and the man approached her and grabbed both her phones.
According to Venter, he jumped into an unknown vehicle that was parked nearby.
“This is a regular crime that takes place in Stilfontein,” he said.
He appeals to residents to be more vigilant and not to talk to strangers.
