Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) held a crucial public engagement session at the Matlosana Auditorium Hall, providing an opportunity for community members to review and contribute to the Annual District Report for the 2023/2024 financial year. The session was led by the Acting Chairperson of MPAC, Cllr James Tsolela, and was attended by key municipal leadership, including the Dr KK Executive Mayor, Cllr Nikiwe Num, who presented the District Municipality’s achievements for the year. Setting the tone for the day, Speaker of Council, Cllr Xolile Nxozana, delivered the opening remarks, while Single Whip, Cllr Jeffrey Lesie, closed the session with a summary of the discussions.
Additionally, Municipal Manager, Mokgatlhe J Ratlhogo, presented the municipality’s Key Performance Areas (KPAs) along with the economic audit report.
A major highlight of the session was the presentation of the Auditor General’s report, which reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to sound financial management.
The report delivered a positive Unqualified Audit opinion, underscoring adherence to principles of accountability and good governance.
This engagement served as a platform for community members to voice concerns, provide feedback, and participate in governance, ensuring that municipal affairs remain transparent and inclusive.
The involvement of District Senior Managers and MPAC Committee Members further reinforced the municipality’s dedication to financial accountability and community-driven development.
