Lentswe, Vryburg - The investigation into the tragic death of Boitumelo Molapo has made a significant breakthrough with the arrest of her husband, Lorato. Boitumelo from Klerksdorp was found dead at her rented house in Vryburg on September 22 2022. “The suspect was arrested on December 19 in Klerksdorp,” said Lt-Col Sam Tselanyane, police spokesperson.
Tselanyane indicated that the arrest followed a thorough two-year long investigation that connected the suspect to the crime.
“After his arrest, Lorato was formally charged with murder and he appeared in the Vryburg Magistrate’s Court on December 20. He is still in custody and expected to be in court again on Friday January 10.”
Tselanyane declined to provide further details at this stage, citing concerns over its potential impact on the investigation. He admitted that Molapo was arrested through forensic evidence.
