Lentswe, Klerksdorp- A Lesotho man was arrested in Kanana for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm. Col Adele Myburgh, police spokesperson, said the Provincial Anti-Gang Unit, Potchefstroom Public Order Police (POP) and Stilfontein K9 Unit arrested a 39-year-old Lesotho foreign national at Ext 3, Kanana for unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition during a crime intelligence driven operation on September 19 and 20. “During the arrest, the team confiscated a pistol with 15 ammunition and a magazine. In addition, the members nabbed a Lesotho foreign national, aged 31, for contravention of the Immigration Act. He was scheduled to appear in the Orkney Magistrates’ Court on Monday September 23.”
