Lentswe, Potchefstroom - Witrand Specialized Hospital has a new specialist psychiatrist in Dr Lerato Masenya. 

Dr Masenya hails from Ga-Dikgale village and nurtured in Mankweng, Limpopo and boasts an impressive academic and professional background. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Degree from the University of Cape Town and later completed her Master of Medicine in Psychiatry at the University of the Witwatersrand. 

Her interest in neuro-stimulation has been recognized through her publication in the South African Journal of Psychiatry. 

For referral to the hospital, ideally the patient should firstly go to the clinic and or acute hospital to be assessed by a general practitioner and if severe and need specialist input, the patient will be referred to Witrand Hospital to see the specialist psychiatrist.

Outside her professional pursuits, she leads an active lifestyle, enjoying CrossFit, hiking, and camping. She has summited notable peaks, including Mafadi Peak in the Drakensberg and Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
