Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The parents of the murdered Tshegofatso Morotola want justice for their daughter. They were present during the court appearance of their daughter’s alleged killer on March 10. She was stabbed multiple times in August 2023, allegedly to get access to her Sassa card.

The case was postponed to April 8 on the grounds that the accused is mentally ill, according to his lawyer.

The parents, James and Mapule Cawe, approached the prosecutor to register their concerns based on procedural fairness at the Klerksdorp Regional Court. According to them, this mental issue is questionable as it was never mentioned before. “We want justice as we are not coping. Justice delayed is justice denied,” they told Lentswe.
