MAHIKENG MAIL-MAHIKENG: The 2024 elections started on a positive note on this week with millions of South African taking part in the special voting process which commenced on Monday ending of Tuesday opening the way for yesterday’s (Wednesday) big rush. 

 

Despite reports of threats and protests in other provinces, the North West had a smooth voting start. At the time of going to press yesterday, the 26 million South African voters flocked in their numbers to different stations across the country to cast their votes for the most contested and historic elections. At the time of going to press, the IEC, responsible for the management of the voting had their hands full to ensure that every voting process went according to plan. Law enforcement agencies were also hard at work to ensure that there were no major problems as the voters expressed their rights to choose the political party of their choice.
