MAHIKENG MAIL - MAHIKENG: Residents of Seweding are living a nightmare, with sewage spillage that has been creating havoc in their community for four agonizing months.
The situation has gotten so out of hand that raw sewage has flooded homes and streets, forcing residents to demand immediate action from Ngaka Modiri Molefe District Executive Mayor, Khumalo Molefe.
The crisis deepened when the service provider withdrew from the site due to non-payment leaving residents to fend for themselves.

In a desperate attempt to mitigate the damage, the service provider dug a 100-meter-long trench to redirect the flow of sewage, but residents are furious about the lack of support and compensation for damages to their homes and belongings.
Many are living with sickly family members  in their homes and the municipality’s failure to provide healthcare services is adding insult to injury.
Mayor Khumalo Molefe visited the area, acknowledging the crisis and announcing that the municipality had spent R15 million replacing pipes and needed an additional R15 million to redirect the sewage pipe and permanently close the old ones.
While work is underway to address the issue, residents remain angry and frustrated feeling that their lives are being put at risk. The situation remains tense with residents demanding justice and relief from the sewage nightmare in their community.
