RUSTENBURG HERALD - KARLIEN PARK – The community of Karlien Park came out in multitudes, in support of the family of 47- year-old Shaun Gabriel Anton, affectionately known as “Shauna”, who was fatally stabbed by his 28-year-old younger brother, during an alleged fray, last week in Karlien Park.

The incident, never anticipated by the community of Karlien Park, sent shockwaves through the community of Rustenburg, and turned social media into a frenzy on the day it occurred.
According to reports, the two brothers, who lived together at their home in Karlien Park got into a heated argument at approximately 18:00 on Tuesday, 20 May. The younger brother, reportedly got hold of a sharp object which he used to stab Shauna multiple times. He unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Rustenburg police Spokesperson, Sgt Ofentse Mokgadi, confirmed the incident and said that the 28-year-old man - who is also the deceased’s younger brother - was arrested and is facing a charge of murder.
In solidarity with the affected family, the community of Karlien Park, held a vigil in remembrance for Shauna, on Friday night, 23 May. The vigil was well attended by, amongst others, various community leaders, relatives, community members and various social organisations.
The leadership of Karlien Park thanked the community for uniting, and coming out in huge numbers to support the bereaved.
His memorial service is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 29 May 2025, at URCA Karlien Park, 2 Canna Street at 18:00. He will be laid to rest on Saturday, 31 May in Karlien Park.
