RUSTENBURG HERALD - LETHABONG - The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Lethabong have arrested a 36-year-old male suspect following an incident of attempted murder that occurred on Sunday, 2 November, at around 15:00 at a tavern.
According to information received, the victim was in the company of friends consuming alcohol at the tavern when her child’s father, arrived and enquired about their children.

He allegedly left the premises, and later returned to inform the victim that the children were fine.
It is further alleged that the suspect then entered the tavern premises, produced a firearm, and fired one shot in the direction of the victim, while threatening to kill her, before fleeing the scene on foot. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The suspect was later traced and arrested, and is expected to appear before court soon on a charge of attempted murder.
The Bojanala Platinum Sub-District Commissioner, Brigadier Mamotsamai Ntoagae commended the swift response of the Lethabong SAPS members for ensuring that the suspect was swiftly apprehended. 
She further urged community members to resolve domestic disputes through peaceful means and to seek assistance from relevant structures when faced with challenges.
