Lentswe, Klerksdorp - The Matlosana municipality partnered with the Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) and Nalthorah Service providers to empower small-scale businesses. According to Ntswaki Makgetha, municipal spokesperson, the programme aimed to equip informal and formal businesses (SMMEs) with basic retail business practices and provide stock grants. “Approximately 50 participants completed training and received certificates of competence. 25 informal traders received start-up stock worth R3 000, while formal traders got stock valued at R5 000.’’

Executive Mayor, Fikile Mahlophe along with MMC Wesley Kgang attended the ceremony where the mayor emphasized the importance of adherence to municipal by-laws as a cornerstone for the sustainablility of businesses.
