Lentswe, Mahikeng - The North West Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), in partnership with the Provincial Initiation Coordinating Committee (PICC) and various stakeholders, concluded a crucial State of Readiness session in preparation for the upcoming 2025 Summer Initiation Season. The session, which took place on Wednesday November 12, aimed to significantly strengthen coordination amongst all role players. The central focus is on ensuring that comprehensive precautionary measures are implemented to reduce the proliferation of illegal initiation schools, guarantee compliance with regulations, and ultimately safeguard the lives of initiates throughout the season.
Reaching out to Lesego
Lentswe, Jouberton - The Gentleman’s Link and Ladies Link reached out to Lesego Sethole, a disabled boy who sells peanuts in the township. The group visited him and his family after they realised they need to make a difference. They decided to buy vegetables that he can add to his business and sell more stuff to the community. He thanked his donors with tears in his eyes by saying “thank you so much for choosing me and helping me run my business”.
Help rebuild her house

Khayaletho Primary visits Star FM
This week Khayalethu Primary School learners and their teacher, accompanied by entrepreneur Rethabile Ngwenya from Reaoboka Agribusiness and Projects were interviewed by Papa Bloke from Star FM. They discussed the importance of economic management and science in schools on his programme The Classics Planet. The children enjoyed the visit to the studio.
Aglican Church's Mothers union commemorate cancer month
The Anglican church Holy family commemorated October as Cancer month and the Mothers Union distributed gifts with the help of Rev Kebareng Shoroma. They wanted to show cancer patients that they are in their prayers. Two ladies and cancer survivors shared their journey with the disease with the congregation. Father Lesley Mokwena and Lucas Halom are also in the picture.
