Lentswe, Khuma - Dr Andile Molokomme and her team at Phenomenal Young Persons NPO, held their fourth annual academic excellence awards ceremony for the matriculants at the Dirang Kanatla high school in Khuma. More than 100 learners and teachers were in attendance. Certificates of Merit were given to the top performing learners, top three in each subject and top 10 overall achievers.

The learners were very thrilled to be recognized for their hard work and this fits in timely as they prepare to sit for their final examinations.

Dr Molokomme adopted the high school in 2021 during her two year medical internship training. 

Since then she presented this ceremony annualy to recognise hard work amongst the matriculants.

The partnership between the Phenomenal Young Persons NPO has seen great improvements in the matric results year after year, said acting principal, Mampho Mindo Ramohapi. “We are truly grateful to Dr Molokomme and her team.’’ 

The ceremony was filled with joy and jubilation as the top performing learner’s names were called to receive their merit certificates. 

“I am extremely happy that I came top of my school and looking forward to life after matric with confidence” said Ntokozo Mthembu, top achieving pupil in the matric class 2024 at Dirang Kanatla High school.

Dr Molokomme’s wishes are that more and more young people could take such initiatives to build communities and give back. 

“We are sincerely grateful to the principal and her team for welcoming us back year after year to interact, inspire and recognize hard working learners.” Apart from the certificates, each matriculant in attendance walked away with a daily devotional material to help guide them in life and inspire them unto success.
