Lentswe, Alabama - The Alabama Stadium came alive as young people gathered for the highly anticipated Sports Is Your Future Tournament.
This event, hosted by SAPS and supported by various community stakeholders, aimed to address the pressing issues of substance abuse and youth involvement in crime through the power of sports.
The tournament kicked off with a vibrant and inspiring program that combined sportsmanship with life lessons.

The day was not just about competition but also about empowering young people from Maquassi Hills, JB Marks and Matlosana Municipality to make better choices for their future.

Klerksdorp CPF Chairperson Mohamed Cajee officially welcomed everyone to the tournament. He praised the initiative for keeping youth away from harmful influences such as drugs and crime. He encouraged participants to make positive choices, saying, “This event is meant to take young people off the streets and show them that sports can open doors to a brighter future.”

Representatives from SAPS, Correctional Services and Social Development attended the event.

The tournament showcased fierce competition across soccer, netball, and morabaraba. 

JB Marks won the soccer, Matlosana the netball and Maquassi Hills won the morabaraba. 

Medals were handed to all participants, while floating trophies were presented to the winning teams.
