Lentswe, Potchefstroom - The Department of Education in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda district, led by the district director, MB Monale, held an appreciation ceremony at ES le Grange School for educators qualifying for the National Teaching Awards.

The ceremony on Monday August 26 was in honour of the four teachers and one principal who won their respective categories at the provincial teaching awards event held in Mahikeng on August 14. 

They are Jacob MthImkhulu, a teacher at Chris Hani Secondary School for Excellence in Secondary School Teaching, Nomsa Tinta, a teacher at New Vision Secondary School, for National Best Teacher, Sinethemba Msomi, a teacher at Botoka Technical School, for Excellence in Teaching Physical Sciences, Nthabiseng Mateba, a teacher at Are-Itshokeng Primary School, for Excellence in teaching Life Skills and Michelle Jerling, the principal at ES le Grange Special School, for Excellence in Special Needs Leadership.

The award winners are proceeding to the National Teaching Awards that will be held on September 3-5.
