Lentswe, Jouberton - The residents of Ext 7 East are fearing for their lives after two gangs allegedly clashed on Monday April 15, with disastrous results.
This section is situated just behind the local police station. According to a concerned resident, bullets started flying at around 11:00 with two gangs fighting.
“It was a clash between Al Kaida and Boko Haram gangs.

“Four members of Boko Haram were shot and two died. Another five were stabbed and are now fighting for their lives in hospital,” said the resident who prefers to remain anonymous as she is afraid of victimisation.

Lt-Col Amanda Funani, police spokesperson, confirmed that a group of people entered Jouberton Police Station with bullet wounds asking for help.

“They told police that a group of people entered a house that they were sitting in with their other two friends and started shooting. These people managed to escape and went to the police station.

“An ambulance was called, and police proceeded to the crime scene where they found the other two victims lying down in a pool of blood, and they were declared dead on the scene. The motive is still unknown, and no arrests made at this stage. The investigation is underway.”

The police are investigating two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
